Maps are places that other people design. When you download a map and use it you can go to that EXACT place!

Tekkit

Tekkit is a Minecraft mod pack. It contains 41 mods. To use Tekkit you need the Technic Launcher that install from the Tekkit website. When you have the launcher log on to Minecraft. You can use servers on tekkit unless they are Tekkit servers. Tekkit has a wiki. Tekkit has many new items, weapons, and even has machines. Tekkit is in 1.2.5 but has a couple 1.3 things like ender chests and emeralds.

Texture Packs

A texture pack changes what diffrent block look like for yourself! If you have the 1.3.1 update then only use 1.3.1 texture packs!

Mods

A mod  adds stuff to minecraft to make it even better! Like this one called toomanyitems adds all the items you can get even end portals!  Even if you are in survival or using a texture pack it will work. If you are using other mods it will add those items to toomanyitems!

This one is called the gun mod and it brings guns to minecraft. the guns are used as weapons in the game to hunt animals like pig.
